Chris had always wanted a Panther but at the time, Mark Spencer of Mark-1-Tank only sold a Tiger in 1/6th scale so a Tiger he bought! After a year or two, a Panther in 1/6th joined the range and Chris bought one. He always wanted a very late/hypothetical model so Mark arranged to have an all metal wheel fitted on the last wheel station and Chris scratch built all the Infra Red gear. Chris made some of the metal shrapnel shields while Howard made the rest. As a novelty, Chris fashioned a dummy engine top and opened up the engine hatch complete cast engine hatches from Howard. After Bryan the Bastard was fitted with a Benedini sound unit, Chris (and Jim) wanted the same for his Panther so another electronic makeover was started! This wasn't as complicated as Jim's Tiger makeover but as the Panther chassis is a lot narrower than the Tiger everything is crammed in that much more. As the Panther originally had one of Mark's combined ESC/Sound unit a changeover to separate ESC's  was made and Electronize were used. Otherwise the electronics are fairly straight forward with no dollies, water squirter or gun but the IR spotlights can be switched on separately. Below are a few pictures of the building, conversion and the finished model taken by Chris, myself and 2R's!

Here's the running chassis at Mark Spencer's headquarters at Easton Manor Farm, complete with all metal rear wheel. Chris's smaller shrapnel shields installed... ...and Howard's large shields over the cooling fans. The engine hatch with cast hinges from Howard... ...and open showing the dummy engine made by Chris.
The late pattern barrel travel lock, MG plug and periscope shied... ...and tool racks were all made by Chris. The finished model in Chris's garage showing the lovely textured surface... ...and all the IR gear. The electronics panel showing the Electronize ESC's, RC Rx, the box containing the Benedini TBS5 and amplifier...
...and at the rear the connections for the turret and sound box. The following few pictures were taken at Easton Manor Farm on a very cold March day... ...by Garry with his supa dupa camera! Here we see Bryan the Bastard and Foxy's Panther as well as Chris's Panther in silhouette. The Panther's just had a near miss...
