Up Event Dates Mark-1-Tank Meets Ascot Sandown Park Tracks and Trucks Winter Meet Proving Ground! War And Peace Shows UK Tank BBQ's TV Shoot Euromilitaire Bovington Meets

Over the weekend of 4th and 5th of May 2002 we went to the Sandown Park Racecourse to attend the Elmbridge Model Club show. This is a mainly radio control aircraft show with boats and cars as well but many people were pleased and surprised to see us there! We had three slots on the two days in which to display our models where we took them outside and found some mud to play in! In between times we manned our stall and answered an awful lot of questions from an awful lot of interested people. Even now after a year or so of attending various events people are still surprised  that such models exist and to see the looks of amazement on their faces (especially the children) makes it all worth while as far as I'm concerned! Here are some pictures taken over the weekend.

Here we see the Tanks going out to play! Jim with his 1/6th Tiger and me with my 1/8th Panther.

Bringing up the rear is Marks 1/6th Tiger.

Round the end of the building and towards the mud!

Howard does a few last minute adjustments...

...as does Mark.

Here's Mark again with his Tiger now fixed and Jim's Tiger in the foreground.

And again the other way round!

And finally we've found the mud, well dirt really. Unfortunately it was horribly dry!

The Panther's going to show the Tigers how to do it.

Anything the Panther can do the T-34 can do better, yeah right!

And again the Panther's going to show the Tiger a thing or two.

Here I'm explaining all about the Panther which I got a ribbing over as I'm supposed not to know much about it as Howard did most of the work! I did watch him though!

This picture is a good comparison of the two scales- 1/6th and 1/8th. Panthers are longer than Tigers in real life.

Here Howard's T-34 is attempting to mount a dustbin!
