As seen on TV!
The Jagdpanther was a logical progression from the Panther
mounting a bigger gun in a fixed fighting compartment on the then proved Panther
chassis. It was produced by two companies from January 1944 until the end of the
war. Only a small number were made, approximately 390, which was just as well
for the Allied tankers as larger numbers of these and Panthers may arguably have
been a better choice rather than digressing into bigger and more cumbersome
vehicles. The picture above shows my model with the two piece gun barrel,
raised crew heater over one of the engine cooling fans and large 'flammvernichter'
infra red signature reducing exhaust pipes. |
